Bridgend Aikido club has been well established in the Bridgend area for many years. The club has a number of members ranging from juniors to seniors, (male and female) which include Dan Grades (black belts) who help the Senior Instructor Jim Barnett with e running of the club.
The club is a non-profit making organisation, which is dedicated to the development of Aikido. As a leading member of the Shin-Gi-Tai Aikido Society, (a national society run by its Principle Coach Shihan D G Jones 8th Dan) it gains the benefits of full recognition by the Sports Council and British Aikido Board.
The B.A.B. Since March 1992 has been recognized By the Sports Council as the governing body for Aikido in the U.K. prior to this time, Aikido was linked to the Martial Arts Commission (M.A.C) and bound by its rules. The B.A.B now has full control.
Sensei Jim BarnettĀ and all of Bridgend's Club Instructors are completely dedicated to the development of Aikido and continually strive to develop themselves, as well as the art at every opportunity. All club Instructors are qualified B.A.B Coaches and have a number of years teaching experience.
Everyone young or old receives a warm welcome at Bridgend Aikido Club where we pride ourselves on our non-political approach.
